THE MOON - 63% PHASE

This image was taken using a large format astronomical CCD and 4.2" apochromatic refractor.  Extra magnification had to be used to frame the moon fully.  The moon, as shown in this shot, was taken just past its first quarter, with approximately 63% of its surface in sunlight.

Scope/Mount: Tak FSQ-106 @ f/32 (Ext Q and 4x Powermate for 3392mm f/l) and Tak NJP mount
Camera: SBIG STL-11000M
Exposure Info: LRGB, 1/10 second exposure per channel
Processing: Dark frame calibration, registration, RGB combine in MaxIm DL 4.  Luminance combine, curves, levels, and selective sharpening in Photoshop CS.

Extra Notes:  10 exposures taken per channel.  Best image of each channel used for RGB, blended in MaxIm at 1.25:1.00:1.62 for balance of color.  Green channel re-used as luminance layer for sharpening and contrast control.
